David Rovics at the Community Church of Boston with Scottish Folk Singer Alistair Hulett

As I began the mixing process, I found Hulett's material increasingly engaging. (I chose to retain his historical narratives.) The tracks took their sonic shape quickly, as I discovered satisfying ways to use the palate of four live tracks we recorded. A typical track takes an hour to create and employs hundreds of adjustments, and If an untrained ear can tell this, then I have failed.

  • 04 (5:40) -Listen! John Maclean's March
  • 05 (3:30) -Listen! The Old Divide and Rule (correct title?)
