DOCUMENTARY STYLE RECORDING
Whether you are holding a meeting or performing experimental music, the idea's the same. A recording is a record of an event, but a recording also becomes its own thing. Post-Production is the spectrum of processes applied to a recording.
492 Cafe has an impressive portfolio in documentary recording, especially of speeches. Many of these are also extensively Broadcast Quaity (BQ) "cleanups." Some examples are posted here and here.
My personal favorite of this edited documentary work may be the Bush Crimes Commission, because of the quality of the work, the importance of the message, and the fact that corporate media were afraid to come within forty miles of it. -Freeman Z

WHAT TO EXPECT...
On-Location recording requires placement of microphones in each speaking-space. All the mic channels are "mixed down" either live, or in a similar manner later on, from a multitrack recording.
