492Cafe.org was originally created simply to offer our free recordings to the public.

492 Cafe's primary mission has always been to promote progressive political thought and action by making the best recordings possible. In this pursuit, we have grown from a single person's volunteer project to a professional team.

Our entry into public address amplification of speech and voice came directly from the need to have access to the sound board for our recordings. It soon became necessary to manage the audio to justify this need to organizers who appreciated our very generous pricing.
